Вопрос по текстурам...

Вопрос - А можно ли запихнуть текстуры 512x512 ?
Я пытаюсь компилить, у меня не компилиццо...
Помню что Skaarj запихивал в ХЛ текстуры 2048x2048.

P.S. Переделываю карту de_riva. На новый лад

а тексели, что это ?

тексели - это те же самые пиксели, но под текстурами )))))))

интересно, а у кого ещё могли остаться такие слабые раритеты, как вуду3? у меня даже старая рива ТНТ2 ультра БП брала все тексы до 2048х2048 , и в гл, и в директе.

просто интересно, а что если тексы 2048х2048 надо обязательно прописывать команду?.. неужели нельзя просто так запускать, ну, или каким-нибудь конфегурационным фалом задавать в настройках?..
Еще, р_спидс возрастает или это те же 512х512 обробатываются, а на самом деле 2048х2048?

Нельзя 2048х2048, 512*512=262144 - общий объёи текстуры, больше почти нельзя, если только самуб малость.
Так что если одна сторона будет 1024, то вторая 256. Если 2048, то на 128.
И рспидс возрастёт, хотя на это может повлиять значение -subdivide в хлбсп, по умолчанию 240 текселей.

тексели - это те же самые пиксели, но под текстурами )))))))

Пикселы ты видешь на экране монитора, их определённое кол-во, нпример 1280х1024. А тексель это элемент текстуры, причём в большинстве случаев на экране пиксел соответствует, или нескольким текселям сразу (когда объект вдали), или является частью текселя (когда уткнулся в стену), поэтому текстурные пикселы отделили от настоящих пикселов и назвали текселями.

не совсем понял, ведь этот параметр как раз делит поверхность тексы на полигоны... то есть, если 240 - это максимальное значение, то с его уменьшением, наоброт, больше поликов буит...

так было написано в учебнике с полигона.
поэтому то и не держит больше 512...

Исправил... Но теперь другое.
Макс Мип Текс... Уже достало. Это исправлять умею.
